The Remedy of Lebanon

I was brought up to the Lebanon, with which I am content, in the regions of Mazraa Beirut and Bourj Hammoud districts. Both regions were open to the Lebanon of diversity. I was born in “Mazraa” (literally: the farm). I left it as a five-year old child, and grew up in “Bourj” (literally: the tower). The neighborhood I grew up in had different confessions and different nationalities. Lebanon, a miniature Lebanon. When I committed myself to the life of the Church, it was easy for me to understand the fact that “Christ is universal”. “For the same Lord over all” (Romans 10:12), on Whom the Church was established, our neighborhood had many of His attributes. After the “two years' war”, many neighborhoods in Lebanon acquired another perception. “Sectarian” and “racist” views had corrupted them… Can Lebanon ever recover of this evil? Have you known, in your childhood, a neighborhood like ours? This is the remedy of Lebanon!
