News From Balamand

Share !

Days ago, I have been told, by close friends, that the administration of St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology, at Balamand, had decided to enjoin those who live on its campus to take the vaccine against COVID-19, in order to spend the forthcoming year in a normal manner. What did this piece of news tell me? It said several things, two of which I leave for you. It said that the people in this distinguished Antiochian edifice consider the theology in our Church to be, first, a communion of life, a communion of faces, a Word and a prayer, a monastery and an institute. Then it said aloud that, in the Church of Antioch, we do not send anyone off into ministry unless he begins in the conviction that "life is a sacred gift". The world likes conflict. I trust that most of those who have accepted the conspiracy theory concerning the pandemic and its vaccine are also concerned about defending life. Peace is a responsibility. In this subject, you should make a complete decision to commit yourself to what convinces you. Peace on Antioch.
