The ecclesial feasts have their reflection on the faithful. On this great day, we celebrate Jesus' ascension to heaven, but, also our own ascension in Him at the same time. If you want it said more accurately, the one to understand this feast is he who understands that on earth, we are on a journey - in Christ - unto Christ Who is our heaven. On this day of ascension, Jesus commanded His disciples to wait for the promise of the Father which they have heard from Him (Acts 1:4). This is not only an assertion that the Holy Spirit is coming on the day of Pentecost, but that He will also bring us with Him all the meanings of our salvation. This is the "guide into all Truth" (John 16:13). Jesus told His disciples: "where I am, there you may be also" (John 14:3). He Who condescended to be with us wants us with Him. This is what the Spirit will say, what the Spirit will explain and what the Spirit will do. This is what God has prepared for us from the foundation of the world.
