Archbishop Antoine Bou Najem

In the Maronite Catholic Archeparchy of Antelias, I have friends who are engaged in the Church ministry. After the Diocese got widowed by the passing away of Archbishop Camille Zeidan of thrice-blessed memory, my friends made me worry for their worry and rejoice for their joy, then await, like them, this blessed day in which Father Antoine Bou Najem got enthroned as Archbishop on this apostolic see which includes both the mountain and the sea. A friend told me, once, about the new Archbishop: “wonderful; loving; humble; genuine; he loves the Word and its ministry passionately”. The most perfect testimony belongs to those whose concern is “for things above” (Colossians 3:2). The beauty of the Church is highlighted by her beloved ministers. Congratulations to the Maronite Church for this new Archbishop. What I hope for him is that he always keeps moving ahead of his people, like the Bethlehem star, “to where the young Child was” (Matthew 2:9), for lasting joy and adoration and for the witness of the new life.
